The Mensa Ponderaria, or public weighing house, was located in the forum of the city of Tibur. The building, probably dating back to the Augustan age, was discovered by chance in 1883.
An adjoining room, uncovered in 1920, was likely dedicated to the imperial cult (Augusteum).<\/p>\n

The maximum capacity per group is 16 visitors per time slot, plus guides and security staff, for approximately 25 minutes per visit.
Visitors are reminded to wear comfortable shoes, to keep their stay inside the site brief, not to lean over the access railing, to pay close attention to steps and uneven surfaces, to enter the Augusteum only in the area not cordoned off, and not to touch the exhibited artifacts.<\/p>\n
