This issue explores the era in which we live: the age of parody. An era in which the tragic is no longer processed, but suspended and neutralized; the sacred is imitated and subverted; language is stripped of meaning and responsibility. Neither irony nor play, but the progressive reduction of reality to a surface and the dissipation of meaning.
\n*Pandemonium* is the eighth issue since the magazine resumed publication in October 2024, after fifty-three years of editorial silence. In the inside cover flap, Debora Rossi, Editorial Director and Head of the Biennale\u2019s Historical Archive, recalls a precedent: in April 1952, the magazine was dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the Venice International Film Festival, featuring an article by Editor-in-Chief Elio Zorzi and an interview with Secretary General Antonio Maraini, who clarified the system underpinning the institution and its activities.
\nAdmission is free, but an online ticket is required.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
On Tuesday, September 29, at 6:30 p.m., at Villa d’Este, the new issue of the Venice Biennale Magazine will be presented.
